Neetu Chandra

Actress Neetu Chandra has demanded a ban on vulgar Bhojpuri songs. She has filed a PIL (Public Interest Litigation) in the Patna High Court and has stated that such tracks make women uncomfortable and should be banned in the state.

Neetu Chandra Takes Stand Against Vulgar Bhojpuri Tracks

Hailing from Patna, Bihar, Neetu Chandra feels that vulgar Bhojpuri tracks make school-going girls feel unsafe. She even recommends that the court file a lawsuit against singers who favour performing these kinds of songs. Such content, in her opinion, is impeding progress and diminishing societal respect for women.

Speaking to India TV, Neetu said, “Vulgar Bhojpuri and Hindi songs are not leaving the girls and women going to school and college in Bihar, and they are forced to walk on the road with their eyes down. Due to these songs, women do not even like to watch TV at home. Many singers singing such songs have gained fame today, which can become an obstacle in the development of society and country.”

Neetu stated that action should be taken against such content and how it is a threat to the entire state. She added, “When girls or women cannot walk safely on the road, how can they think about development? If a government can enact a law to ban liquor to protect women from drunken husbands, then why can’t it ban these vulgar songs for school and college-going girls and women? I want a complete ban on the production and playing of these songs in Bihar.”
